The Animal - Rusty the Black Rat

Just one more to go after this and the team will be complete. And if you've been paying attention, you know who the final character will be a contrast with.

This little guy is Rusty the Black Rat (yeah, I know he's technically gray, but if I made him any darker you wouldn't see his facial details. :shrug: ), and he is the lifelong friend and companion of Dean Evitable, and a vital part of the team Dean formed with his best friend Lin Plausible.

Once they appear in my fanfiction over on my author page at Fanfiction.net where I'm also known as AmericanGecko, I'll come back and give you a better description of who he is. : ) Right now they've barely had 1000 words devoted them.

I've stated for a while that I've been working on some fan art for the show Kim Possible. This is the fifth piece I feel is ready for submission.

Rusty popped up soon after Dean did. After all, what would a rival to Team Possible be without someone for Rufus to be in competition with? : ) Initially I thought his design phase would be simple, as I wanted him pretty normal in the looks department. However, drawing a rat in the Kim Possible style is a lot harder than it really should be...or maybe I just need more practice at it (as usual, I guess). Still, now that he's out, I feel relatively comfortable with his design. : )

The Techie - Cade Mode

The team is very nearly at its completion. : )

This sly-looking fellow is the techie for Lin Plausible and Dean Evitable, an incredibly brilliant yet troubled young man by the name of Cade Antonio Mode.

I've stated for a while that I've been working on some fan art for the show Disney's Kim Possible. This is the fourth piece I feel is ready for submission (actually, I'm not a hundred percent satisfied with him, particularly his eyes, but I can't figure out what it is about them I'm not happy with :shrug:).

Cade was a creation of necessity when I decided to set the previously created Lin Plausible and Dean Evitable up against Kim and Ron. Otherwise, all Kim would have to do to...beat them is have Wade disable them technologically. And so, I decided to give them a techie as well. However, unlike Lin and Dean, I didn't want someone who echoed of his counterpart on Team Possible in appearance, and that desire meant that Cade has been giving me fits in his design as I tried to stay true to the style of the show. But finally I have him completely ready for his appearance. He's be 100% ready if I could just figure out why I don't like his eyes, but the answer continues to elude me...

Dean came about after Lin popped up while I was attempting to draw Kim Possible. When Lin's character begged for a story I knew she'd need a friend and ally to help her out, and Dean began to take shape. Actually went through several incarnations of him (including a female version even O_O ) before I arrived at the final version you see above. But based on how he came out, I'd say it was worth the hassle. : )

Introducing the Leader - Lin Plausible

Well, here's the second piece I feel ready for submission. Her name is Lindsay Jane "Lin" Plausible, and she's an OC I created in the world of Disney's Kim Possible. Also, the previous piece I submitted is her logo.

Creation wise, Lin actually popped up a while back while I was attempting to draw Kim Possible. And no matter how many times I went back to the skeleton and restarted, she kept popping back up. Finally, I remembered one of my art teachers once telling me:

If you're trying to draw something and keep drawing something else, it probably means it's an idea you should try and develop.

And since Lin kept popping up in Kim's place, I finally took the hint and decided to see what I could come up with.

First of Many...I Hope...

Well, I finally have something to submit. This is the logo of a set of OCs I have created in the world of Disney's Kim Possible. The characters are known as Team Plausible, and if you want to know who they are, you're going to have to read my work over at Fanfiction.net. Although I will say that so far they've only been mentioned in passing -- not even fully identified yet.

This picture actually represents a pretty big milestone for me, as it is the very first of my original fan art that I've felt comfortable sharing with the Kimmunity and others in general. Hopefully it will merely be the first of many, but for any more you're going to have to wait a bit.

Getting Ahead of Myself

Well, it happened.

A friend of mine warned me a while back that if I take on too many projects at once, they're going to start blending in my head. And wouldn't you know it, it happened:

I was all set to go to my publisher's meeting, doing my final read through of my original novel, and lo and behold I found a long and lengthy passage intended for my fanfic deep within it. And by "long and lengthy", I mean no less than four chapters, and I had without thinking about it adapted my story to accommodate these intruding elements. Needless to say, I freaked. (Still freaking a little bit now to be honest...)

Thankfully, the publisher meeting got canceled because the guy I was meeting with had to go out of town at the last minute, and I've been rescheduled for a month from now. Hopefully it'll give me the time I need to fix the error, but we'll see.

On a different yet similar note, the same thing is happening in my fanfiction. I really need to complete the current story in my KP verse (Part 2) before moving on to the next (Part 3), and yet ideas for the next installment keep invading my thoughts. It's actually getting rather frustrating, as I need to focus on Part 2 before I move to Part 3 because elements of 2 will be important to 3. *ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!*

And for those waiting on pictures, I'm afraid your wait will be a bit longer. I've decided that I want to try and do these pics in order so I don't confuse people, and the first picture (in sequence, not creation) is giving me all manner of fits. Right now I have three different versions of it in sketch stage, but I can't decide which to go with. May end up putting all three up on DevArt and letting my viewers decide, but we'll see...

Ups and Downs

So the art I've been trying to do based on my Kim Possible fanfiction still refuses to cooperate. Right now I can't even get it to where I'm comfortable posting it as a WIP. But I refuse to give up, and I will eventually start posting it for people to view and comment on. For those curious, I have over fifty pics in the works. Haven't yet decided if I will post them in sequential order or as they get done, but it may depend on what gets done first.

In a related note, my original novel nears the completion of its first draft. And good thing to, considering I have a meeting with a potential publisher in less than a week. Fingers crossed that they like what they read/see.
